Sightseeing in Kandy

  • After breakfast, Sightseeing in Kandy
  • Along the way visit Muneeswaram Temple, Chilaw - Lord Rama after his victorious battle, left to Ayodhya along with Sita. Since Ravana was a Brahmin, Sri Rama was said to have incurred bramhaasthi dosham because he killed Ravana. He pleaded and meditated on Lord Shiva for a solution. Lord shiva advised to install four shiva lingas.
  • Then proceed to Manavari Temple - This is first lingam installed by Lord Rama. This lingam is called Ramalinga.
  • En route visit to Pinnawala Elephant orphanage (55 miles away from Colombo) - This orphanage houses abandoned and wounded elephants.
  • Overnight stay at Hotel Topaz Kandy

Sightseeing in Kandy

  • After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya (City of lights), also known as ‘Little England’
  • En route visit Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple, Ramboda (On the hills of Ramboda, Hanuman was searching for Sitadevi)
  • Then proceed to Mani Kattuther at Labukalle Estate (hilltop where Lord Hanuman is believed to have taken rest after meeting Sitadevi)
  • Evening visit the Gayathri Peedam in Nuwara Eliya (founded by late Swami Murugesu Maharishi)

Sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya

  • After breakfast, sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya
  • Enjoy viewing beautiful backdrops of mountains, valleys, waterfalls and tea plantations
  • Around this region, one can see British style houses like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions
  • Victoria Park is a lovely place for a stroll or a picnic and also good for Bird watching
  • On completion visit the Hakgala gardens (Exotic pleasure garden which contains wide variety of flowers and collection of orchids. It is here king Ravan kept Sita devi.)
  • Visit Seetha Amman Temple, Seetha Eliya – This temple is dedicated to Lord Rama, Sita, Laksmana and Hanuman, constructed beside the stream. Sita devi is said to have bathed in this stream that runs from hilltop.This stream is called Seetha River.
  • Thereafter proceed to Divurumpola in Welimada road, Nuwara Eliya - It is at this place Seetha underwent ‘Agni Pariksha’ to prove her innocene and purity to Rama. In Sinhala, Divurumpola means place of oath.
  • Overnight stay at Nuwara Eliya

Ravana Ella and Ravana Cave

  • After breakfast, proceed Ravana Ella (breathtaking waterfall) and Ravana Cave (This cave is part of tunnel which connects to the Ravana waterfall)

Kataragama Temple, Ussanggoda

  • After breakfast visit to Kataragama Temple to worship God Skanda (Murugan)
  • Then proceed to Ussanggoda (one of the torched areas, which is said to have been an airport used by King Ravana)
  • Along the way, visit Rumassala (The mythological mountain of Galle)
  • Then head to Seenigama Temple, Hikkaduwa (dedicated to Devol)
  • Move to Anjaneyar in Sri Lanka (world to have a chariot of Anjaneyar)
  • Over night stay at Colombo

Colombo

  • Drive through the city, commercial areas, tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens
  • Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith's quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where there is a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749
  • The historic Dawatagaha Mosque and the former Eye Hospital are two buildings in Cinnamon Gardens worth looking at.
  • Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independence Square.Thereafter transfer to the airport for the departure flight. (Approximately 1 Hrs Drive)

Child Policy

Child under 12 years sharing with parents without an extra bed will be given a 50% discount and with extra bed, 30% discount on per person double sharing RATE. if two children under 12 travel with parents they will be considered as one adult and will be given one extra bed to share.

Cancellation Policy

It is our most important concern and aim that you enjoy your trip enabling us to earn your trust. However, we are not responsible for any cancellation due to any adverse weather conditions, industrial disputes, and technical failure of any type of transport we use, late arrivals or force majeure or for any reasons beyond our control.

Refund

It is our most important concern and aim that you enjoy your trip enabling us to earn your trust. However, we are not responsible for any cancellation due to any adverse weather conditions, industrial disputes, and technical failure of any type of transport we use, late arrivals or force majeure or for any reasons beyond our control.

  1. 15 days prior for South India, 30 days prior for North India - 90% of tour charges
  2. 5 Days prior to South India, 15 Days prior to North India - 75% of tour charges
  3. Less than 5 days for South India, Less than 15 days for North India - No refund

Advance/Part payment towards the booking is not refundable. Cancellation & refund rules will also apply to those who have booked the seats less than the above specified period.

Cancellation

You have the right at any time to cancel the booking but if you do so, must make the cancellation in writing. The cancellation rules behind the provisional receipt will apply.

Tours will be confirmed subject to minimum of breakeven points depending to the capacity of the vehicle; otherwise we hold the right to cancel the tour. Cancellation will be informed to you 10 days before the actual departure.

Cancellation & refund rules will also apply to those who have booked the seats less than the above specified period.

Note

There might be non-availability of certain hotels due to Elections in various states; due to which rooms in huge numbers might have been booked in prominent hotels. In this regard there might be change in the hotels; customers will be accomodated in best possible hotels where rooms are available.

Customers need to take care of their belongings and keep it safe custody. Sankara Yatra; or its associates are not responsible for the loss, pilferage, misplace of any personal belongings, jewellery or any other belongings of the customer.

Sankara Yatra will not bear medical expenses arising from injury, spasm, stiffness or any other injuries to the customer during the yatra. Any expenses arising out of such happenings during the course of the Yatra should be borne by the customer.
